Unfortunately, we are not accepting applications for exhibition projects at the Galerie im Saalbau until further notice. We assume no liability for unsolicited applications, portfolios and catalogs and cannot return them for capacity reasons. Likewise, we cannot guarantee a response for this reason.

The Department of Culture Neukölln selects at least two Neukölln artists or artist groups every two years in a jury process for an exhibition at the Galerie im Saalbau and supports this exhibition with an artist fee and a production cost subsidy.
The application period for 2026 is closed. The next submission period will start in April 2027.

With its multitude of studios and art spaces, Neukölln is a lively and important location for the contemporary art scene. The Department of Culture recognizes this fact with the annual Neukölln Art Prize. In cooperation with the Neukölln Cultural Network and the housing association STADT UND LAND, outstanding artists from the Neukölln art scene are honored with a total of €6,000.
All artists who live or have a studio in Neukölln are eligible to apply. A jury of experts will nominate seven of them for a group exhibition in the Galerie im Saalbau. The three prize winners will be selected during the exhibition. (1st prize: €3,000, 2nd prize: €2,000, 3rd prize: €1,000).

Application deadline: August 1 to September 15, 2025
Applications can only be submitted using the online form on this page. Please note that the deadline for submission is 11:59 p.m. or 12:00 a.m. on the submission date. Applications received after 12:01 a.m. will not be considered for procedural reasons. We recommend that you do not submit your application shortly before the deadline in order to avoid overloading the server.
