The works of French-born artist Alice Baillaud (*1975) move between dream and reality and deal with themes such as nature, the subconscious, the past, longing and loneliness. The works on display are mainly glass boxes, with several levels staggered one behind the other. These dream-like shadow paintings depict romantic landscapes and enigmatic interiors. With the help of light and shadow, expressive moods emanate from the magical miniature worlds. As with “Alice Behind the Mirrors” by Lewis Carroll, the viewer wants to explore the world behind the scenes. It is a journey to oneself, a search for meaning and connection with the world.
