Vernissage

In their first solo exhibition, Vinzenz Aubry explores the concept of society in the “post-image” era and transforms the Galerie im Saalbau into participatory spaces of experience through three large-scale installations, in which the audience itself becomes both camera and screen, experiencing this era firsthand.

Looking at the Sun, an experimental film inspired by the experience of a total solar eclipse, explores sensory overload and seeing without light—while simultaneously fulfilling the longing to gaze directly into a star. Vibrations for Androids II unfolds in the subsonic range: an artificial Earth whose orchestra joins the low-frequency languages of rivers, whales, and rockets. On robot-controlled loungers, The Message Is the Massage reflects on touch and geometric cognition as universal characteristics of the human brain—and shares its secret messages about the black sun and the yellow square.
