The two-artist exhibition Bittersweet Symphony explores a theme that shapes many aspects of life yet often remains hidden: alcohol addiction. The photographic works by Stefanie Moshammer and Eric Meier engage in a powerful dialogue about dependency, intimacy, responsibility, and the scars that addiction leaves on families and society.

Two distinct artistic perspectives converge and approach the topic of alcohol addiction in their own unique ways: While Moshammer processes her mother’s alcohol addiction through a poetic visual language, Meier takes a documentary approach to men living in a residential facility in Eisenhüttenstadt, sensitively exploring themes of isolation, dignity, and the consequences of social upheaval.

Straddling the line between intimacy and distance, Bittersweet Symphony opens up a space for questions about responsibility, background, and social exclusion—without offering easy answers.
