Artist Talk

with Cornelia Herfurtner and Linnéa Meiners

As part of the solo exhibition “…or do you love your blinders?”, a conversation will take place at the Galerie im Saalbau between the exhibiting artist Cornelia Herfurtner and the artist and curator Linnéa Meiners.
In her artistic practice, Cornelia Herfurtner raises questions about political participation and forms of protest, but also addresses barriers and exclusions in our society, both in private and public spaces.
In their conversation, Meiners and Herfurtner discuss these overarching themes through the lens of specific artistic working processes and visions, the medium of sculpture, and current political issues.

Cornelia Herfurtner is a sculptor. Craft techniques play an important role in her research-based artistic practice. For Forms of Disobedience (2020–2025), she is exploring the history of the Assembly Act (VersG) in the Federal Republic of Germany, particularly Section 17a. For this series of works, she has learned woodcarving and works primarily in lime wood. In 2026, Cornelia Herfurtner is a fellow of the Kunstfonds Bonn.

Linnéa Meiners is a curator and artist living in Berlin. In her work, she explores processes of transformation, accessibility, and the structures of artistic practice. Her aim is to highlight possible socially just, sustainable, and progressive futures.

The event will be held in German.
