TAKING SPACE IS A FEMINIST ACT

The curator Clara von Schwerin guides through the exhibition TAKING SPACE IS A FEMINIST ACT and provides an insight into artistic practices and initiatives at the interface between resistance and care. The exhibition shows works that subversively occupy spaces, create protest platforms or initiate places for solidarity, exchange and visibility.
Interventions, performances and documentations of urban practices deal with topics such as violence, power inequality and social exclusion and make marginalized experiences audible and visible. The exhibition understands spaces not as neutral architectures, but as dynamic and negotiable terrain.
Works are shown that reclaim public and institutional space in a self-determined way and allow a fairer city to be imagined.
