beyond tongues—Synesthetic Transmission

The exhibition beyond tongues—Synesthetic Transmission concludes with a special finissage that invites visitors to experience the transcultural aesthetics of the Korean-German artist couple Sarah Oh-Mock and Bongjun Oh. In their work, the artists develop a vision in which language and identity no longer have fixed boundaries, but are instead understood as dynamic, overlapping elements.

A large-scale installation of photographs, video works, and objects unfolds a dialogue between different cultures and media, encouraging a reassessment of communication and belonging. Oh-Mock and Oh, whose collaboration is shaped by their different cultural backgrounds, open up a space in their work that addresses the interactions between tradition and modernity, East and West, past and future.

The closing event offers the opportunity to experience the exhibition one last time and take part in a tour of the exhibition with the artists. Visitors will have the opportunity to interact directly with Oh-Mock and Oh and gain insights into the creation of their works and the concepts behind the exhibition. This personal tour allows visitors to understand the works from the artists’ perspective and explore the diverse intercultural connections they link in their projects.
