Artist Talk with Stefanie Moshammer and Eric Meier

As part of the exhibition Bittersweet Symphony, Stefanie Moshammer and Eric Meier will speak with curator Katharina Schilling about their works Each Poison, A Pillow and Vaterland and their different artistic approaches to the topic of alcohol addiction.

How can an experience marked by personal intimacy be translated into art? What images can be found to represent addiction, care, shame, and responsibility—and where are the boundaries of what can be shown? The conversation takes the two artists’ different working methods as its starting point and explores the relationship between personal experience and social reality, between closeness and distance, as well as the possibilities—and the responsibilities—of artistic representation.
