With its large number of studios and art spaces, Neukölln is a lively and important location for the current art scene. This is honored by the Department of Culture in cooperation with the Cultural Network Neukölln and the housing association STADT UND LAND with the annual awarding of the Neukölln Art Prize.
More than 130 artists living or working in Neukölln applied again this year. Seven of them were nominated by a jury of five experts for the art prize, which is endowed with a total of 6,000 euros.
Galerie im Saalbau will present the works of the nominees in a group exhibition. This will give visitors an authentic insight into the multi-layered production and special quality of the works of Neukölln artists, which are created here every day in countless studios, apartments and project spaces. In the context of the exhibition the three winners are determined. (1st prize: 3,000 euros, 2nd prize: 2,000 euros, 3rd prize: 1,000 euros).
