Neukölln Art Prize 2024

With its large number of studios and art spaces, Neukölln is a lively and important location for the current art scene. This is honored by the Department of Culture in cooperation with the Cultural Network Neukölln and the housing association STADT UND LAND with the annual awarding of the Neukölln Art Prize.

More than 130 artists living or working in Neukölln applied again this year. Seven of them were nominated by a jury of five experts for the art prize, which is endowed with a total of 6,000 euros.

Galerie im Saalbau will present the works of the nominees in a group exhibition. This will give visitors an authentic insight into the multi-layered production and special quality of the works of Neukölln artists, which are created here every day in countless studios, apartments and project spaces. In the context of the exhibition the three winners are determined. (1st prize: 3,000 euros, 2nd prize: 2,000 euros, 3rd prize: 1,000 euros).

Nominated for the Neukölln Art Prize 2024 were:
Veneta Androva, Johanna Brummack, Christian Diaz Orejarena, Marta Djourina, Ceren Saner, Sophia Uckmann, Constanze Vogt

In a festive ceremony at the Heimathafen Neukölln, the following prizes were awarded on February 16, 2024 by Karin Korte, City Councillor for Culture:

1st prize – 3,000 euros: Ceren Saner, Inside The Ring
2nd prize – 2,000 euros: Sophia Uckmann, Flachkörperstudie II
3rd prize – 1,000 euros: Johanna Brummack, ObsCare

A special prize is awarded to Constanze Vogt by STADT UND LAND Wohnbauten-Gesellschaft mbH in the form of a purchase.

The jury consisted of:
