Neukölln has already been the creative epicenter of Berlin for many years. The national and international art scene creates a wealth of artistic production in the district, which is to be honored with the Neukölln Art Award. More than 170 artists living or working in Neukölln applied again this year. Seven of them were nominated by a jury of five experts for the art prize, which is endowed with a total of 6.000 euros.
The Galerie im Saalbau will present the works of the nominees in a group exhibition. This gives visitors an authentic insight into the multi-layered production and special quality of the works of Neukölln artists, which are created here every day in countless studios, apartments and project spaces.
A special prize will be awarded by STADT UND LAND Wohnbauten-Gesellschaft mbH in the form of a purchase. Afterwards, an art and music performance by DJs ILYICH and MINCO will take place in the Great Hall at Heimathafen.
The awards are endowed with a total of 6.000 euros:
1st prize - 3.000 Euro
2nd prize - 2.000 Euro
3rd prize - 1.000 Euro
