Guided tour with the curators

Neuköllner Kunstpreis

More than 170 artists living or working in Neukölln applied this year for Neuköllner Kunstpreis. Seven of them were nominated by a jury of five experts and were thus given the opportunity to receive an award. Their works will be presented to the public in a group exhibition at the Galerie im Saalbau until April 24, 2022.

The 1st prize was awarded to Dachil Sado with his work “traces of arid dust”. In this work the artist deals with the shisha as a symbol and shows what image the shisha stands for.

Bongjun Oh’s installation “Between Where From and Where To”, which at first appears fragmentary, only opens up after close inspection, revealing a picture of the socio-cultural structure of society.

The curators Yolanda Kaddu-Mulindwa and Daniela Nadwornicek will guide through the exhibition together with the award winner Dachil Sado and the winner of the special prize of Stadt and Land Bongjun Oh.
